🎤 Poland's National Final for Eurovision 2026 Will Feature Pre-Recorded Performances
The highly anticipated Polish national final for Eurovision 2026 is taking a surprising turn, as the competition will now showcase finalists through pre-recorded performances that will be aired during a live show.
According to Dziennik Eurowizyjny, this new approach to the Polish national selection diverges from the initial plans. The finalists are scheduled to film their acts on February 28 and March 1 in a studio setting for the show "Jaka to melodia?", with these performances being broadcasted on March 7. Interestingly, the contestants only became aware of this format change recently, leading Basia Giewont to express concern that they might have reconsidered submitting their entries had this information been disclosed earlier. Originally, the rules indicated that the final was to take place on February 14.
A lineup of songs competing in the Polish selection has already been revealed:

The artists participating in this year’s Polish selection include:

- Basia Giewont – "Zimna woda" (Cold Water)
- Jeremi Sikorski – "Cienie przeszłości" (Shadows of the Past)
- Karolina Szczurowska – "Nie bój się" (Don’t Be Afraid)
- Ola Antoniak – "Don’t You Try"
- Piotr Pręgowski – "Parawany Tango" (Tango Screens)
- Stasiek Kukulski – "This Too Shall Pass"
Initially, TVP announced that ten entries would be chosen for the final; however, only eight have been selected. Notably, Karolina Czarnecka withdrew from the competition just hours before the official announcement of the participants.
The grand finale of the Polish qualifications for Eurovision 2026 is scheduled for February 14, with the outcome determined solely by public voting. Should there be a tie or any technical issues, a backup jury will intervene to decide the victor. The winning act will have the honor of representing Poland in Vienna.
Last year, Justyna Steczkowska represented Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with her song "Gaja," earning a respectable 14th place with a total of 156 points. In the public vote, Poland secured 7th place, garnering 139 points and receiving 12 points from both the Irish and Icelandic audiences.
