Attention Fresno City College Community: Campus Closure Extended—Here’s What You Need to Know
February 3, 2026 —
A Message from the President:
I’m pleased to announce that the critical repairs to the college’s main water lines are now complete. However, we’re not out of the woods just yet. The City of Fresno is conducting mandatory testing on the water lines, and we’re awaiting their results before fully reopening. But here’s where it gets tricky: until those results are in, the west side of campus will remain closed on Wednesday, February 4. If you encounter any technology-related issues during this time, don’t hesitate to reach out to the Technology Support Services (TSS) HelpDesk at (559) 443-8670—they’re here to assist you.
And this is the part most people miss: while the west side is closed, several key locations on the east side of campus will remain open for classes and services. These include:
- New Science Building
- Child Development Center
- Ratcliffe Stadium and Field House
- Health Sciences Building
- Welcome Center/Mailroom
- State Center Community College District Police Department
We’re committed to keeping everyone informed. Notifications will continue to be sent through the First to Know system to all FCC faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, we’ll post regular updates on the FCC website, so be sure to check back often.
Here’s the controversial part: While some may question the extended closure, prioritizing safety and compliance with city regulations is non-negotiable. We believe this cautious approach is essential to ensure a smooth return to full operations. What do you think? Is this the right call, or should we explore alternative solutions? Let us know in the comments.
We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation together. Whether you’re joining us in-person or remotely, our team is dedicated to supporting your academic journey every step of the way.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
