Ex-UFC fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik faces multiple charges, allegedly ‘bit’ his partner
The former UFC fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik is in custody after being arrested in Florida on two separate charges of domestic violence. The incident occurred on January 19th when the Pembroke Pines Police Department responded to a 'suspicious incident' and determined it to be a domestic battery case.
Rozenstruik's partner, who was not named in the report, alleged that during an argument while driving to their storage unit, Rozenstruik became aggressive. She claimed that he slapped her hand, causing her phone to fall, and then bit her right bicep. The police report details a series of events where Rozenstruik's partner defended herself by punching him in the head, leading to Rozenstruik attempting to kiss her, which she rejected. This escalated into Rozenstruik allegedly biting her bicep.
The police noted visible injuries on Rozenstruik's partner, including a bite mark on her right bicep, redness on her forearms, and a scratch/bruise under her eye. She provided consent for the police to photograph her injuries. The investigation revealed that Rozenstruik was uncooperative and had changed his account of the incident multiple times, withholding information. This led to probable cause being established that Rozenstruik was the primary aggressor and committed the alleged crime.
Rozenstruik, 37, had a successful career in the UFC, ranking among the top 10 heavyweights for six years. He achieved notable victories over Andrei Arlovski, Junior dos Santos, and Alistair Overeem. However, his career took a turn when he was released from his contract in 2025 after a 3-4 record, including a loss to Sergei Pavlovich. Rozenstruik then signed with Mike Perry's Dirty Boxing promotion, becoming the heavyweight champion in his second fight with the promotion.
